Merak Merino Wrap — Ochre

Named for Merak, the highland settlement in the east where the Brokpa graze their yak. Woven in merino rather than highland fleece — the one wool we bring in, chosen because it is soft enough to wear against the neck all day. Striped in ochre and cream.

Woven by hand, so no two pieces are identical. Small variations in colour, width and weave are the evidence of the loom, not a fault.

We price our work by loom-days — the number of days a piece spends on the loom. It is the only measure that reflects what a handwoven textile actually costs to make.

Care

Dry clean, or hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild wool detergent. Spin for no longer than five minutes, reshape while damp, and dry flat away from direct heat and sunlight.
